I will give women their props. They have come a long way being not just beautiful, but also intellegent, dedicated, and independent. This might sound akward comming from a guy, but I know it's true. Also, there have been many successful african american women like Madam C.J Walker, Wilma Rudolph, Hale Berry, Cicely Tyson, Venus Williams, Rosa Parks and so on and so on. This all adds up to be an incredible resume for women, african american and caucasian.
I really dont know... First of all it doesn't say, "Black Women History Month".But the relationship is that we are honoring women because most of them changed America in some unique ways. It's telling us that women can do as much as a better job as a man can. Because back then, women was critizied about not having the same skills as a man. They were symbolized as weak, and house wifey.
it relates to black history month because we respect what the black poeple did for us. We also respect the women that had help one another get through hard times
I feel that Black History month , and Women's History month relate because they are both talking about the achievements of African Americans. The only difference I feel these to share is that March is strictly dedicated to the women who made a difference.
It relates because women are the framework and the backbone for the civil Rights movement. for example rosa parks, was an alabama woman who stood up for her rigt to sit in the front of the bus. sHe made it possible by being the foothold that allowed the men to crosssover and make arrangents for a better tomorrow over the horizon
I agree with kentitsu, the whole reason behind the both of the heritages were that they were to honor women and african americans who made an achievement. a sacrifical achievement at that.
it also relate to it by respecting the women more. Its like we can not live with out them. With out the women that was fighting back then. We young men would not even be here until this very day
Its important becuz it show hw much things gt dne that women help 2 achieve.it show that nt only the men gets reconized bt also the women. It show that women take part in our history
I agree with ~T!ZZY B@YB3~. With out the women, we might not be in the shape we're in today. Women filled in the missing bricks for the wall of America.
Women's history and Black history are related in a few ways. We both were fighting for equal rights and the rights to vote. During WWI African Americans moved to northern cities and work side by side with women at jobs and keep the economy regulated. Soon after in 1920 women got the right to vote and have been moving up in society ever since.
I agree with Charles, because we must show respect to the people who fought to make a difference in todays society. I think one should know how much we appreciate what they did, because they didn't really have to do it.
women fought for there rights to just like we did. They wanted to own there own homes and be able to have a job. they did not want to be held down by men. Just like the men did not want to be held down by the ===>(white man)<===....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The play "Trifles" written by Susan Glaspell was a one-act play. This play was based upon true events that happened in Iowa at the turn of the century. Ms. Glaspell worked as a reporter for the Des Moines News, where she covered the trial of a farmer's wife that killed her husband with an ax while sleeping. This is where Susan got the idea for her own play.
I give it up to black women. They have done alot for us.they are beautiful, and independent. People like India Arie,Oprah Winfrey,Monique and plenty more have done so much for our american community.
Women had so much to do with and relate to black histoy month. But they dont give us enough credit for what we all have done.We as women had to fight for our rights because in men eyes were just here to do household thangs. But we showed them that we can do what they do in walk in work on the same level as them. Women then were strong but now were even stronger.Helping make our black history better and stronger!!
Susan Glaspell’s one-act play, Trifles, is based on actual events that occurred in Iowa at the turn of the century. From 1899-1901 Glaspell worked as a reporter for the Des Moines News, where she covered the murder trial of a farmer’s wife, Margaret Hossack, in Indianola, Iowa. Hossack was accused of killing her husband, John, by striking him twice in the head with an ax while he slept.
Woman of color did so many tremendous things before our time. For example, Harriet Tubman, after escaping from slavery, into which she was born, she made thirteen long trips to rescue more than 70 slaves using the Underground Railroad.Black women in history were strong and prestigious. They paved the way for us so that we as black people could live a better life. I think that we should be very appreciative.
Susan Glaspell was born july 1 1876-july 27 1948.She was an american Pulitzer prize winning play wright, actor, director, and best selling novel. She was a founding member of the Provincetown Players, she also served in the Works Progressive Administration as midwest bureau director of the Federal Theater Project
Susan Keating Glaspell was American pulitzer prize winner, who was a playwright and actress, was the founding member of Provincetown Players. She was born in 1876 and graduated form Drake University in Des Moines In 1899
I agree with tylor men held women back from doing many goal, under estimating them and tell them to let a man handle it. There are strong women out there even stronger man at time. They are able to do things on there own and don't need help.
Women's History month is essential in many ways. One us women were underestimated, intimidated, and irritated. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton worked tireless years to fight for the right to vote. Once men and few women went to the military, there were jobs that needed to be taken. Ones of which were taken by African Americans during the Great Migration, women, and wartorn families. Once women got their own money and their own accesible things, they fingured that they should be treated the same men are. Who's to say women aren't as great as men? I'll tell you, MEN!!!
Susan Glaspell a american Pulitzer Prize winning playwriter, actress, and director etc.... She wrote the drama Trifles an one act play. Most of Glaspell writing are femnist, showing what role women have to play or are precieved as.

i strongly agree with Charles. Women should be treated with the utmost respect! How would the world be without women? Women have done great things to better the world for us today
Black History month and Women History prompt is similar in many ways because both months talks about a great fight for a cause. I give women a cograts for all the hard work they have accomplished.
They Both Have There Similarities But There Really No Relations Because Back In The Old Days They Weren't Appreciated Because Of One All Men Think They Were Worthless And Couldnt Do Anything But Cook , Have Children , Clean And BASICALLY A HOUSE WIFE But Now In The Present Women Are Making More Money Than Men , There More Mature And Strong ! They Should Be Recognized =)
Black History and Women History Month have a lot in common. Back In the 1800's neither blacks or women had any rights. Then black started to gain rights but women still had none. Its almost as if they fought the same fight. They could feel each others pain in wanting to make a difference. Both the months are in place to show respect and the accomplishments of blacks and women.
I have never heard of women history month until now but looking back throught history women have been through alot and has suffered throught history. I think that this month should be spreaded around to let everyone know about it so we can celebrate womens rights.
@Ashley & Charles: I understand exactly what you both mean. No matter how less or much more a woman do than a man, they still should be recognized for their works.
@ katelyn2013- Woah, woah, woah I admire your confidence and history references, but don't go verbally bashing the men's reputation. After all, we are not all so prejudice. Imean, did you even read my first comment which is THE FIRST NAME ONE THE PAGE!!!!!! So before you get all sexest on me, get your facts straight.;)
Susan Keating Glaspell Was An American Pulitzer Prize- Winning Playwright ,Actress , Director, And Bestselling Novelist. Her novels and plays are Committed To Developing Deep , Sympathetic Characters , To understanding "Life" In Its Complexity. Though Realism Was The Medium Of Her Fiction , She Was Also Greatly Interested In Philosophy And Religion. I Have Read One Of Her Stories Called "Trifles" And I Can Truly Say It Was An Awesome Story ! =)
Women history month is related to black history month in serveral different ways because they both struggled for their rights. It's alot of women who put themselves in danger to get respect such as ; Rosa Parks Civil Rights Movement, is one example of African American Women struggles. Yet their dreams have overcome eventhough their life didn't last but their dreams are free. As we think of this day we shout our women name in digity . !
Women history month and black history month are related because both blakcs and women were treated unfairly. Also both blacks and women had to really fight for the right to vote.
I feel like black histroy month and wonmen hsitory month are almost the same.Because they both talk about what people did to make America what it is today. The only thing that dont relate is one talking about all women's and the other talking about females and male.
womans history is related to black history because women made black history. If it weren't for women how would MLK , F.Douglas, B.T.Washington or any man be here. Women have struggled to to be independent and strong. Women have been over looked numerous times. Women have fought for the right to vote, to be heard, and the right to make their on choices. I'm finally glad we have a month to be recognized
Black history month has a lot in common with Women's history month. How you ask?? Black history describes how African American women just as men struggled hard to triumph and follow their dreams. Women just had to try hard because of their gender and by them being put down so much they had to fight mentally and physically. For example Sojourner Truth. She was hard women butt that was only to keep her life out of danger. She wanted to enjoy her freedom and know her children would be free too.
These two months are very similar . Women and Blacks had to go through very similar things . Women and blacks were both considered low class at one point in time. Women didn't have any rights. They couldn't stand up for anything . Blacks were considered basically animals. They also had no say so to anything. They're were judged by skin color , but women were judged by sex . They felt women belonged in the kitchen and on their backs . And blacks belonged in the cotton fields.
Black History month and Women's History month are closely related. This is because they show how month sides struggled for a cause. African-Americans struggled for equality and better rights. The women struggled for better rights as well as the right to vote.

Many people didn't even feel as though people ,being women or African Americans could strive and reach for success, while alive or even after death such as the great African American inventors before our time, J.B Winters, or still alive such as women like Cecily Tyson or Oprah Winfrey, who happened to be women and of African American descent.

Inheritors is a play by Susan Glaspell. It concerns the legacy of an idealistic farmer who wills his highly coveted midwest farmland to the establishment of a college (Act I.)Forty years later, when his granddaughter stands up for the rights of Hindu nationals to protest at the college her grandfather founded, she jeopardizes funding for the college itself and sets herself against her own uncle, president of the institution's trustees (Acts II & III.)
